about the studio

welcome to the studio of nakamoto kazuki.

half japanese, half british.

the studio was founded in 2020 during the first lockdown and has begun releasing monthly limited items since. currently a one man team, all garments are designed and hand-made by nakamoto kazuki, 中本和樹, the founder and director of the brand.

the initial concept for the brand was the incorporation of japanese streetwear into the british highstreet. throughout university, the most common question kazuki was asked regarding fashion was

“where can i find clothes like yours?'“

there is a growing asian community in britain, as well as a growing love for all things considered asian. unfortunately, it is rather difficult to obtain japanese, south korean, or chinese fashion here in the west without waiting several months for shipping or questioning the quality of absurdly cheap items. to the question

“where can i find clothes like yours?”

kazuki could only respond with one thing,

“i bought it when i was in *insert far away country name*”

as he was not the only person here with an interest in japanese streetwear, this geographical barrier between asian fashion and the british highstreet served as a prickly thorn in the consumer’s side.

thus was born the idea of the studio of nakamoto kazuki.

providing the avid western streetwear fan with a portal to accessible japanese streetwear.

allowing others like hisself to dress how they wish.
